An inverter may refer to

  • Inverter (electrical), which converts direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC)
  • Inverter (air conditioning), a device that allows an air conditioner to continuously regulate its thermal power flow
  • Inverter (logic gate), also called a NOT gate. If input is a logic low it is converted to a logic high. If input is a logic high it is converted to a logic low
  • Uninterrupted power supply, which are referred to as "inverters" in India because the inverter is a major component
