Talk:Intuitive eating
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Is Hawks really the first (modern) proponent of this kind of system? How about books like "Diets don't work", "Intuitive Eating" or "The Overfed Head" -- when were they published compared to Hawks's work?
[edit] Origins...
I do know that "THIN WITHIN" by Judy Halliday (formerly Judy Wardell) & Arthur Halliday was claimed to have first been written in 1975. Don't know when Hawks' was first published.
- This whole concept is absurd. If I practiced "intuitive eating", I'd be eating hamburgers and steak-and-cheeses everyday. And I'd be fat. There's something that isn't mentioned here. It's called "self control", and it's a far more well known "nutritional" concept that doesn't make people obese. Junk food is not nutritious, and I doubt any nutritionists (or dietitians) would ever recommend eating whatever you feel like eating. Where's the criticism section, eh? Or does anyone even take this seriously enough to criticize it? Fuzzform (talk) 00:56, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
