[edit] The Federation Starship Intrepid, the first Intrepid Class Starship

Hey EEMeltonIV, Rick Sternbach, the guy who created the Intrepid class starship Voyager once said that the Intrepid's registry number was NCC-74600. He was also the one who created the Enterprise tactical display in Nemesis and purposefully listed the USS Intrepid NCC-74600 as one of the ships in the Battle Group Omega. If you want more info, check out the links I provided in the article and on this discussion page. Also, check out this link: [1]. So before you decide to revert my changes, please check the facts first.--Just James 22:54, 11 November 2006 (GMT+10:00)

Fan sites are not reliable sources -- certainly a vague assertion that "Sternbach once said" on EAS doesn't clarify or support anything. Even if you did cite it, it's entirely possible that Sternbach changed his mind about the registry for the Intrepid class between when he "once said" whatever he said and the creation of the tactical displays. If you can get your hands on a copy of the Star Trek Encyclopedia, perhaps the information is there. Also, Sternbach a couple of years ago used to post over at the TrekBBS -- you might check their archives or post a new question and cite it as an interview on this page. --EEMeltonIV 14:09, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
The Encyclopedia does state that there is a new USS Intrepid as the pathfinder for the Intrepid-class, and that this is the ship that appears. It does not give the registry number for this, but I think this statement in the Encyclopedia is a strong enough source to include at the very least, a link from this article to USS Intrepid (Star Trek), wherein sightings of the Intrepid are discucsed. I'd say go ahead and mentioned that the Encyclopedia indicates there is a USS Interpid pathfinder. But the connection between this ship and that registry number is a conjecture not supported by a verifiable source. --EEMeltonIV

Might we want to include the information that pops up all over the place, including on the official site about there only supposed to being four ships of this class? This doesn't appear to have been mentioned on screen or anything, but was probably part of the writer's guide or publicity materials. Morwen - Talk 16:49, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure if they say anything about the class, but I know that the USS Intrepid is mentioned in an episode of TNG. 129.237.90.54 21:22, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Color?

Quick question: Why does the Voyager appear to be blue, whereas other ships of the same design appear in the standard gray? Is there a reason for this, or is it merely artistic license? 129.237.90.24 06:00, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Because the image is crap, I'll replace it eventually if no one else does. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 23:27, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
