Talk:Interstate 695 (New York)

Would it be a good idea to merge this into Interstate 295? It is officially part of I-295, and it doesn't really serve any independent utility. --NE2 14:51, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- While both internal NYSDOT referencing and the FHWA consider this as I-295 (see the total lengths), I-695 is clearly signed as a different route and I-695 is all the general public sees. Note that the Cross Bronx Extension appears to be a state-maintained internally unnumbered road (it is not 295I nor is it a reference route). The exit numbering for I-295 follows the Cross Bronx, however. Bottom line is, I'm unsure about how best to handle this. Merging might be ok but I generally prefer to have separate articles for routes that are signposted differently. --Polaron | Talk 15:26, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
