I removed this text. It does not properly belong in this article, although it may be true; it could more properly be placed in an article about young chess prodigies.

I have included the text here in case people strongly disagree and desire to replace it in the article.

"India's youngest international master is Abhijeet Gupta (born 1989), who was officially awarded the title in August 2005." Transcendentalstate 20:56, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Fundamentally there is nothing wrong with mentioning young players, though would be a better idea to pick a more extreme example. Just like we have mentioned three people who did not become an IM on the way to becoming a GM. These are all related and interesting facts to do with being an IM. [edit] WikiProject Chess Importance

Upgraded to High Top from Mid due to high linkage to article. ChessCreator (talk) 16:59, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Although I understand this argument, I do not think this article is of Top importance to someone wanting to discover chess through a general-purpose encyclopedia. I had set it to Mid-importance but now I put it to High, kind of average between your assessment and mine. SyG (talk) 21:27, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Ok, no problem. ChessCreator (talk) 22:44, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
