Talk:International Journal of Computational Cognition

[edit] Disputed
The current version identifies cognition as "a natural science". This is in conflict with the commonly accepted usage of "natural science", as exemplified in the natural science article. Cognitive science, which is what the sloppy use of "cognition" presumably refers to, is by all accounts an interdisciplinary field, drawing mainly from related behavioral science disciplines, and though it has physical aspects, it's not primarily a pure natural science. --MarkSweep (call me collect) 00:23, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
- I would suggest that the statement "the first research journal for computation cognition" is incorrect, since Brain research: Cognitive brain research a pretty well established neurosciences journal (my University lib has a subscription) describes itself as "A section of Brain research devoted to the publication of cognitive and computational studies." Note that it is published as part of a broader collection of journals, all titled "brain research: something something." It has been published since 1995. Saying "The first vague something" strikes me as advertising fluff, not verifiable fact. --Hansnesse 05:09, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hoax tag?
Is this really a Wikipedia:Hoax article? The journal can be verified to exist, isn't a NPOV or factual accuracy tag like {{POV}} or {{disputed}} more appropriate? Thoughts? --Hansnesse 05:09, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- I agree, this is not a hoax. The journal might be some sort of scam, but it appears to be real. --MarkSweep (call me collect) 16:56, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
