Talk:International Enterprise Singapore

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I believe there is a case to be made for including this article. I first considered contributing when I saw this as one of the links without content yet on the page "Statutory_boards_of_Singapore". This page lists various non-profit government agencies, and sister organizations such as the Economic Development Board are listed. It is also an organization analogous to others such as JETRO (Japan's export promotion agency), as well as Austrade. which have content on Wikipedia. I agree it does not yet have global recognition, this is partly due to it's relatively recent name change from the Trade Development Board. I had not finished editing the article, and I intend to put links to the website as well as sources to ensure it is verifiable. I hope there is a case for reconsidering the speedy deletion of the article.

Also, I have not been asked to do this article for marketing or promotional purposes, nor have I informed anyone or stand to benefit by doing so. My intention is simply to create a basis for further edits as well as what I view to be a need for completeness, and I was simply filling up one of the gaps.

POV wise, I am trying to be neutral so please inform me if this is not up to scratch. Thus far I have pointed out it's overlap with sister agencies. It would also be interesting for them to understand the differences between this organization and analogous ones like JETRO and Austrade to understand that not all countries adopt the same organizational model, but that these correspond to the aims and the level of development of the respective national governments that they serve. This was information I had intended to add.

You might want to read the notability guidelines for companies. If International Enterprise Singapore meets one or more of them, then the article should state so. — Coren (talk) 03:16, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
I have removed the Speedy Deletion tag from the article. The article has accumulated material since originally nominated for deletion and it does appear to relate to a significantly influential Singaporean governmental entity. Further, it now has one secondary source; additional secondary sources should be added as soon as possible. If there remains a desire to nominate this article for deletion, it should go the WP:AFD route. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 02:13, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
