Any independent confirmation that this organisation ever existed? It sounds suspiciously like the ICDISS whose existence is contested 194.129.60.10 17:09, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

And the article was created by User:Liliana Dioguardi. I've added a hoax tag as an alert. JQ 21:32, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Edward Lucas from the Economist here. I think this does exist, quite clearly. look at www.iciss.ca

Unlike the ICDISS this has contact info etc. Seems to be part of Canadian foreign policy. 194.129.60.10 16:44, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Expansion Needed

The ICISS is a quite legitimate Canadian-championed commission, which had widespread global participation. It was created in direct response to Kofi Annan's challenge to prevent another Rwanda. It is notable for proposing a redefined notion of sovereignty and reorienting the humanitarian intervention debate on 'responsibility to protect'. This article could thus use expansion (although a lot of the "responsibility to protect" article is directly related!). hodgetts 03:45, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
