Both Intermodal and Multimodal are parts of "modal" transport, but they are NOT synonyms.

I have been BOLD and merged the two articles, since neither in any way even attempts to explain why they are not synonyms; both carried the same definition. Arsenikk ^(talk) 21:11, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
