[edit] Picture is ER, not ICU
The picture is of an ER, obviously, and the text indicates that also. Do we have a hospital worker on 'staff' at Wikipedia who could get us a GNU-FDL picture of a real ICU? --Rabbeinu 18:35, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
- I removed it. I'm afraid I cant find any appropriate GFDL images on google image search. Best regards 195.137.96.79 03:25, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Hi,
Surely Bjorn Ibsen is the father of ICU's when he developed his unit in Denmark in 1952 to manage the poliomyelitis epidemic?
- Hello there. This isn't my topic at all but I think you may be right. The source only says that William Mosenthal established the first ICU in the US. I'll check it out shortly. By the way - be bold! You can change the information especially if you can provide a reliable source - go for it. Best regards 195.137.96.79 03:51, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
how old do you have to be to see someone in ICU if youre not family? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.91.12.188 (talk) 00:15, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Cost
One thing that is often omitted from Wikipedia articles is cost. Budgets for towns, hospitals, etc. An in-law recently was in an ICU for 30 days. His widow got a bill for $250k, or $8k/day. I realize that this varies by country, but it needs to be considered. Student7 (talk) 15:27, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
