A UFO is sighted outside of town, prompting the group to investigate via the school's father/child campout.

Into the Woods begins with Liz griping about her cold. Maria rushes in vowing to sear off boys and experiment with nose rings. Max’s boss from the Alien Museum rushes into the Crashdown Café, exclaiming that there’s been a sighting of a UFO and this time it’s authentic. He later tells a rather dubious Max as Sheriff Valenti interviews witnesses.

Max passes the word on to Michael and Isabel, who are uncertain about it, but decided they’d better check it out. Fortunately there’s a Father/Kid camp outing that weekend so if Valenti catches them, they have a perfect cover. Meanwhile, Liz is also cajoled into going by her father who feels they don’t spend enough quality time together. She bribes Maria into joining her.

Kyle Valenti visits his father and asks about whether they will buy a new tent this year-they go on the camping trip every year it seems. The Sheriff admits he’s busy but will try.

Alex asks Isabel out on a date. She agrees, but later when she realizes it will coincide with the camp outing she cancels and Alex decides to join the rest of the cast on the trip.

River Dog visits Michael and affirms his suspicions about the sighting. Michael wonders if River Dog is the elusive 4th Alien and exhibits some resentment towards the Evan’s over his lack of relationship with his own foster parent.

At the sight of the camp, a suspicious Valenti parks his tent is right next to the Evan’s tent. Alex tries to flirt with Isabel but she insists that she only wants to be friends with him. Later that night Max and Isabel leave for the spot of the sighting. Liz catches them leaving and is adamant on going- she is equally curious the Alien’s origins, Maria also follow Liz, Max and Isabel but none of them know that Valenti is following them.

Back in town, River Dog awakens Michael and tells him it’s time to go visit the sighting. Back the the camp sight Liz's dad Jeff comes out of the tent to invite Liz and Maria in because the air is getting cold.

Max and the others go deeper in to the woods until they all hear dogs, the group starts to run away from dogs but can't out run then. Liz tells Max and Isabel to go on, and they say that they just got lost as Max and Isabel leave. As Michael and Rover dog are eading the sighting, river dog hurts his leg. Michael starts to ask questions because he thinks River dog is the fourt alien, but River dog tells him he's not, Michael also beings to ask why is River dog helping them if he is not one of them. River Dog gives a straight answer afterwards Michael heals River dogs leg.

Liz and Maria meet up with her dad and Max and Isabel father ask Deputy Hanson if he seen his kids the Deputy Hanson says no.

We then see Max and Isabel heading to the sighting with Valenti watching them from behind, Kyle grabs his shoulder saying why is he following Max. Valenti tells Kyle to never mind and go back to the camping sight. Just as he is about to leave, Kyle tells Valenti his just like his father. At the sighting Max, Isabel meet up with Michael and River Dog, there they see a symbol that they saw in the cave the three aliens then touch it and the symbols glows. Valenti come up to them and Max quickly use his powers to cover it up. And tells Valenti that they were all lost and leave. Valenti looks around but can't find nothing.

The next day Valenti goes and visit his father in the old age home
