In the U.S. state of Indiana, Interstate 94 (normally called I-94) runs east-west through the northwest portion of the state.

The route between the Illinois border and Lake Station at its junction with the Indiana Toll Road is known as the Borman Expressway and is a heavily traveled route. Northeast of the toll road, I-94 passes through what is commonly known as the Michiana area including Michigan City as it extends to Michigan

There are eleven exits on the Borman Expressway. These interchanges (except for Central Avenue) are full interchanges, but the intersection with Interstate 65 is spread out over the course of a mile and a half.[2]
