Interstate 894 (abbreviated I-894) is a bypass Interstate highway spur route in Milwaukee County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It runs for 4.70 miles (7.56 km) from a north-western terminus at the Zoo Interchange, where it meets Interstate 94 and US 45, moving south to the Hale Interchange, joining Interstate 43 and taking and moving east to its south-eastern end at the Mitchell Interchange, meeting I-94. It can be used to avoid downtown Milwaukee and the Marquette Interchange, shortening the trip by about 2.1 miles (3.4 km).[2]

Many Milwaukee residents simply refer to I-894 as "the bypass." It is part of what was intended to be an extensive freeway system encompassing the greater Milwaukee area, and was also intended to be part of a beltway around Milwaukee.[citation needed]

I-894 is the highest numbered highway, state or otherwise, in the state of Wisconsin.
