Internet call waiting

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Internet Call Waiting is a technology that allows a telephone line to accept incoming calls while connected to a 56k Internet dialup connection.

While online, a software application displays the Caller ID of the incoming call, and gives the user the opportunity to screen the incoming call. The user can then forward the incoming call to another number, or disconnect from the internet and take the call immediately.

Most Internet Call Waiting software is currently fee based, but free software is also available.
