[edit] Student Activities

During summer there is an extensive free-time programme offering excellent trips and a great chance to meet new people and practice German. Vienna's location in the centre of Europe makes visits to Bratislava, Budapest, Prague, Brno and even Ljubljana simple. Moreover, other Austrian cities like Graz, Salzburg and Linz are easily accessible by train or bus.

[edit] Accommodation

Between October and June, IKI can arrange accommodation in apartments in the city free of charge. In the summer months (July, August and September, however, accommodation is provided in Haus Salzburg, a student dormitory in Mariahilf. Most students choose to live in Haus Salzburg.

[edit] Courses

IKI offers a range of full-time, part-time, intensive and evening classes. Most students choose to spend between 1 - 18 months studying in Vienna, with 3 hours of classes per day. It is also possible to take a series of evening classes spread out across a semester, or even have individual one-on-one tuition.

IKI is also an Österreichisches Sprachdiplom (an Austrian oral examination) examination centre and also a member of the Union of Austrian Language Schools (CAMPUS AUSTRIA), which was founded by the Austrian Ministry of Education. Full information about the Sprachdiplom can be found on the official website.

[edit] Location

IKI has two central locations in an historic part of Vienna's city centre. The main campus, including the reception, school office, and five classrooms are located near the Vienna State Opera House at Opernring 7. A second, smaller campus is located nearby, at Bösendorferstraße 9. Both are close to Karlsplatz/Oper underground station which can be reached on the U1, U2 and U4 lines, the 1, 2, D, J, 62 and 65 trams, the 4A and 59A buses and on the Badener Bahn. The campuses are within walking distance of each other.
