The Internationale Fachmesse für Baumaschinen, Baustoffmaschinen, Bergbaumaschinen, Baufahrzeuge und Baugeräte (bauma) is a trade fair held tri-annually in Munich, Germany. Mainly, engineering vehicles and tools are shown for a duration of seven days.
With an area of 540.000 m², it is the largest fair in the world. It is hosted by Messe München International (MMI) at Riem fairgrounds (Neue Messe München) in the southeastern part of the city.
The 28th fair has been held from April 23rd to April 29th, 2007 and was an all-time record regarding visitors (≈500,000 which is a raise of 7% compared to the 2004 fair) and exhibitors (3,041 which is a raise of 20% compared to the 2004 fair)[1]. The next fair will be held from April 19th to April 25th, 2010.
Since 2002, a similar fair is held in Shanghai, China (the fourth being held in November, 25 to 28, 2008).
