[edit] History
The university was founded in 1998 on the initiative of the state of Baden-Württemberg and regionally based companies such as SAP, Klaus Tschira Foundation, Alcatel / SEL, Bosch, Deutsche Telekom, Hewlett-Packard and IBM.[1] Education started in the fall trimester of 1998 with a total 30 students on a former military barracks in Bruchsal that has been converted. The university initially provided bachelor's and master's courses in economic and information sciences. The first graduation where students received their degrees respective degrees was held in July 2000. Due to the initial and continued small size of the university and financing problems, a takeover by the state Technical University of Karlsruhe was considered. However, this never occurred and on 27 June 2007 the university became part of AG Educationtrend. [2]
