[edit] Teams available
International Superstar Soccer Pro includes 35 different international teams based more likely on their real equivalents of season 1996/1997 with accurate home, away and goalkeeper kits featuring manufacturer logos and national emblems. The line-up of each team consists of 16 fictional players.
[edit] Prominent Players
Several players featured in the game bear a striking resemblance to prominent players of the time, reflected either in appearance or name (due to the fact that the game lacked FIFPro licence the use of real names was forbidden). Examples abound. Italy have player named 'Coliuto' with grey hair representing Fabrizio Ravanelli, player named 'Riggio' with characteristic ponytail representing Roberto Baggio or players named Pagani (Gianluca Pagliuca), Antonini (Demetrio Albertini), Passaro (Daniele Massaro) etc. Germany have the players Sieke, Stranz and Muller, representing Jürgen Klinsmann, Thomas Häßler and Matthias Sammer, respectively. The game's England team is almost entirely composed of such imitation players. However the player named 'Duckham' represents David Beckham. The other star players that can be easily recognized are: Claudio Caniggia, Gabriel Batistuta, Fernando Redondo (Argentina), Ronaldo, Branco, Leonardo (Brazil), Patrik Berger (Czech Republic), Carlos Valderrama (Colombia), Bernard Lama, Marcel Desailly (France), Jorge Campos (Mexico), Dennis Bergkamp, Ed de Goey (Netherlands), Fernando Hierro (Spain), Thomas Ravelli, Martin Dahlin (Sweden) and many more.
