The National Autonomous University of Mexico was the first academic institution in Mexico that implements studies about International relations. The first university program was created in 1952, called "Diplomatic Sciences Degree". This career was created inspired in th studies on History, Law and Politics.
In 1968, a reform transformed that career in the actual "International Relations Degree". In 1970, it was created the International Relations Centre[1], that is responsable of the teaching and research of IR topics.
Currently, the International Relations Centre, or CRI as is also known, divides in six areas the teaching and researching of the IR. The six aereas are:
- Theory and Methodology of International relations
- International politics
- International law
- International economy
- Mexican Foreign Policy
- Regional Studies
