International Policy Forum
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The International Policy Forum is a fully student-run think tank based at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.
Founded in 2006, the IPF is an opportunity for students to engage in a year long project to learn and draft policy recommendations on international affairs. In its unique format, the 12 participants spend the first half of the year learning from policy experts. In the second half of the year, the students debate and draft policy proposals which are then distributed to policy leaders across the country.
In 2006-07, its inaugural year, the IPF chose Canada-US relations as its first topic. Its report titled, Partnership Through Capacity Building: A Forward Looking Strategy for Canada-US Relations, was released in mid-April 2007.
Currently, the Directors of the IPF are Katherine Millard and Matthew Ronald. The IPF is funded by the UN Society, a student organization at Carleton University.
