The International Medical University (IMU) is a private medical school in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It started off as International Medical College (IMC) in 1992 and was based in Petaling Jaya until 1999. It was also the first private medical institution of the country. The college was given university status in 1999 by the Malaysian Ministry of Education. It offers courses such as Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing as well as postgraduate studies. As a step to provide quality medical education, the university maintains relationships with a total of 26 partner universities offering twinning programmes with many universities worldwide, including universities in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

[edit] The Campus
IMU's Bukit Jalil campus was the former headquarters of the 1998 Commonwealth Games, known as Plaza Komanwel. The University bought the building and began operation in the campus when it was given university status in 1999. Currently the campus is undergoing expansion and the project is scheduled to finish by 2007.
IMU also owns two clinical schools in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan and Batu Pahat, Johor.

The campus is equipped with many facilities to provide quality education, including a Clinical Skills Unit, a Nursing Skills Unit, a Library, 8 Multi-Discipline Laboratories, 5 Multi-Purpose Halls, 3 Lecture Theaters, 6 Seminar Rooms, Problem-Based Learning rooms, 4 computer laboratories, and 2 pathology laboratories . There is also a students' centre (currently under renovation), complete with a lounge and a gymnasium.

Vista Komanwel Condominiums, which is 5-minute walk away from IMU, serve as the natural choice of accommodation for IMU students.

- Master of Pharmacy (a twinning programme with University of Strathclyde, Scotland)
