The International Institute of Agriculture (IAA) was opened in May 1908 by the King of Italy. After World War II both its assets and mandate were handed over to The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)and its centenary will be celebrated by The Italian Government and FAO in May 2008, under the slogan "100 Years of International Agricultural Statistics".
