International Institute for Energy Conservation

The International Institute for Energy Conservation (IIEC) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization with the mission of promoting sustainable approaches to energy use in developing countries.

The organization was founded by Robert L. Pratt and Bailey Spencer in 1984. One of its early successes was its assistance in the creation of a demand side management energy conservation program in Thailand, working with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.

In 2006 IIEC has offices in Washington, DC USA; London, UK; Manila, Philippines; Bangkok, Thailand; New Delhi and Mumbai, India; Johannesburg, South Africa; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
