International Gladiators 1

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gladiators was a popular game show in the 1990s, a format of which was shown across the world in many countries. It had a contact sport theme with members of the public competing against super-fit 'Gladiators', who were in fact skilled athletes in their chosen field. Each show would consist of a series of physical challenges, with the aim of out-doing or out-running the Gladiators in order to score points. The final round would show the male and female contenders racing against one another over a gruelling assault course in order to secure a place in the final. The winner of the grand final would receive a high-value prize, such as a Jeep or off-road vehicle. For some contenders this was not necessarily the end; 1994 champion Eunice Huthart pursued a career as a stunt-woman, the movie Tomb Raider being just one of her credits.
