From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The International Federation of Women's Lacrosse Associations (IFWLA) was formed in 1972 to promote and develop the game of Women's lacrosse throughout the world.

Original members were Australia, England, Scotland, Wales and the United States. Since then, Canada, Japan, the Czech Republic, Germany and New Zealand have become full members, with Denmark and Hong Kong currently associate members. The group is attempting to increase interest in women's lacrosse in South America. Promoting all levels of lacrosse includes the IFWLA sponsorship of the World Cup and the Under 19 World Championship Tournaments. These events are held every 4 years.
