Internal Drive

Internal Drive, or, more commonly referred to as iD Tech Camps, is an American, family owned and operated summer computer camp based in Campbell, California which specializes in providing computer technology education to children ages 7 through 17. It is the largest computer camp of its kind, currently offering its unique blend of summer camp and technology education at 50 prestigious universities and colleges nationwide.

In 1999, iD Tech Camps was founded in Los Gatos, California by a family of educators who saw a need for technology education for kids and teens. They decided to come up with a program which presented the finest technology education in a summer camp setting while being held at prestigious institutions across the country. At its inception, iD Tech Camps was held at 21 university campuses in seven states across North America. Now iD Tech Camps can be found at 50 universities and colleges in 23 states nationwide.

Students who attended the first season of iD Tech Camps were given the option of 4 different courses to choose from which included Digital Video & Movie Making, Interactive Media/ 3D Arts, Software Programming and Internet Web Authoring. To date, more than 20 courses are available for students to choose from spanning a wide rage of subjects including Video Game Creation, Web Design & Flash Animation, Programming, Digital Video Editing and 3D Character Modeling. Other special programs held at select iD Tech Camp’s locations include the iD Gaming Academy, iD Film Academy, and iD Spain.

iD Tech Camps students spend the majority of the day, 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours after lunch, immersed in technology education, while working in groups that average just 6 students per instructor. iD’s methods of instruction are constantly praised for their effectiveness in challenging each and every student and providing an extremely diverse camp experience. The small class size allows students to move comfortably along the specialized curriculum at their own pace.
