Interhash

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

InterHash in a biennial (every 2 years) event, the granddaddy of periodic international Hash House Harriers events, where Hashers from different groups get together to run and drink beer together.

There are many quasi-InterHashes which are continental or national and also use "interhash" in their name (e.g. InterAmericas Hash, Africa-InterHash) and but the term InterHash specifically refers to the world InterHash. Attendees vote for bidding Hash kennels to choose where the succeeding InterHash will be held. The InterHash can occur as quickly as 14 months apart or with a gap of more than 2 1/2 years, the only requirement is that the InterHash occur in the even numbered calendar year.

There is a redirect website (http://interhash.com) which presents a link to the next InterHash website as soon as the next one is determined.

The (world) InterHash has been every even numbered year since 1978 with these host locations:

The host for the next InterHash event is selected by vote of all attending Hashers at an InterHash. Before 2004, voting was done only by club GMs (Grand Masters/Mistresses) attending InterHash at a GM's meeting. The GM's meeting has also been discontinued.
