Interactive digital cable ready

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Interactive digital cable ready or iDCR is a label used by manufacturers on new digital televisions in the United States that feature built-in technology which allows consumers to receive Standard Definition and High Definition digital cable programs without requiring a set-top box. Unlike the Digital Cable Ready (DCR) standard, iDCR supports interactive customer features such as programming guides, Pay-per-view and Video On Demand. Consumer devices which support iDCR also support the new OpenCable Application Platform (OCAP) standard developed by CableLabs.
