Intego is a software company, founded in 1997, which creates backup, antivirus, anti-spam, firewall and data protection software for Mac OS X. It is the only security software company that focuses exclusively on Mac OS X security products. Its founder and CEO is Laurent Marteau. The company's slogan is "we protect your world".
Intego produces software such as VirusBarrier, NetBarrier, ContentBarrier Personal Antispam and FileGuard, and the server-side virus protection products VirusBarrier Server and VirusBarrier Mail Gateway. The company also sells its software in several security suites, under the Internet Security Barrier name, each of which contains several important security programs, and they also offer protection for both Mac OS X and Windows with its Dual Protection product line.
In September 2007, Intego launched the Mac Security Blog, which provides articles about Mac security issues, security updates, and security alerts. In early 2008, Intego released the X5 line of products, resulting in VirusBarrier X5, Personal Backup X5, NetBarrier X5, Personal Antispam X5, and FileGuard X5. There is an X5 update for several of Intego's Internet Security Barrier bundles, but an X5 version is not yet available for ContentBarrier X4.
Intego currently has offices in Austin, Texas (United States), Paris (France) and Nagano (Japan). All of Intego's products are universal binaries, and are available in several languages (English, French, Japanese, German, Spanish and Italian).
