InteGrate

InteGrate (formerly known as "Solution 42", a name taken from Douglas Adams's "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" cult series) is a pipe-lined high performance architecture for handling batch rating of telecommunications CDRs (Call Data Records).

Solution 42, originally based in Quickborn, Germany, was purchased by Portal Software with an aim to preparing the Infranet IP real-time IP billing software platform for entry into the telecommunications market. Since the purchase of Solution 42, the InteGrate architecture has been integrated into the Infranet telecommications billing platform, now being called the BRE (Batch Rating Engine).

The InteGrate platform is notable for the conceptual structure that it brings to the task of performing the complex task of Telco rating. The "Framework" contains "Pipelines", each of which consists of "Plug-ins", which can be freely combined to perform the task at hand. The standard plug-ins cover a wide range of rating tasks (e.g. zoning, service determination) and the overall rating process can be customised by using "iScript" or "iRule" configurable plug-in modules to prepare or post-process information.
