[edit] needs improvement

i appreciate the effort, but the diagram doesn't do a very good job of representing the scale of the differences. i'm looking at it at 1600x1200, and the black dot in the lower right corner is only barely visible. i think a different format for the comparison is needed - though naturally i've no idea what would work better. from my recollection though, scale demonstrations like this need different sized blocks. which is to say, the big block for IPv6 is the largest object on the page, while IPv4 is a fraction of the size, and the rest a fraction of that. i think perhaps not maintaining the text inside the boxes would help - text outside the box, arrow pointing to the box. sigh. if i had any skill at putting something like this together, i'd try. so, with that in mind - i reiterate that i do appreciate the effort. i don't intend to denigrate the work put into this attempt. [edit] not to scale

The image claims that it is to scale except for the black box in each image, but since that is the only part of the image that has any scale, it's actually the case that nothing in the image is to scale. 71.141.237.157 (talk) 09:19, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
