I created this cat to merge Category:International union federations and Category:Regional union federations. On reflection, after starting the regional cat a few weeks ago, it is a bit arbitrary to separate the two. There is very little, if any, difference and having them together will make it easier to search. Another option would have been to place the regional cat within the international cat, but I don't think that solves anything as many of the larger federations also have regional sub-sections, and it would just get more confusing. I left the two original cats as soft redirects here.--Bookandcoffee 22:54, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

I'm wondering if the regional federation cat is needed here. Just about all of these appear to be International not Regional. I think just about all regional federations (California AFL-CIO, Manitoba CLC) are part of National Federations and may not need a separate cat.
