Discussion from former Inner City Posse talk page

This article is fake

there was no such gang. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mitchellandness1 (talkcontribs) 05:48, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

If any one has any more information on the Inner City Posse, please add it to this page.

johny kickjazz?? wasnt it d-lyrical??

Insane Clown Posse

Shouldn't we merge and redirect this to Insane Clown Posse? --SuperDude 00:21, 30 August 2005 (UTC)

That's not a bad idea. Seconded. Juggaleaux 06:01, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
ABSOLUTELY NOT. That would be like merging Hellyeah with Mudvayne. Both ICP's are similar but they are two different groups with two different popularity statuses. Leave it as is.the juggreserection 13:49, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
There's not a whole lot of information here, and Inner City Posse were never signed to a major label. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 15:35, 22 December 2007 (UTC))

I agree it should be merged. Inner City Posse's only relevance lies in the fact that played a part in the early years of the Insane Clown Posse, otherwise they wouldn't have an entry at all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.216.90.16 (talk) 13:17, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

ICP

Shouldnt we mention the hidden track, Special Sauce Ft. lil' Kim and Eminem?? Sung by fat jesus of c-span. i love WCW. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.57.64.103 (talk) 01:42, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

*Bass-ment Cuts

i changed the name of the album Bassment Cuts to Bass-Ment Cuts because it was wrong. also, now it links to the actual Bass-Ment Cuts cd page. --Mpfterd 18:20, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

This is horrible

This article should not exist as it's own article. It seems most of it's content could easliy be put into the Insane Clown Posse page, and even if it is not it needs serious cleanup. Gopherbassist (talk) 07:17, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

you are clowning times ten bro —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.39.68.173 (talk) 18:24, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

I agree

I agree. It should be left as is. Insane Clown Posse and Inner City posse are two completely different groups and should each have their own individual page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.194.17.182 (talk) 23:54, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Addition to the criticisms page

Rapper Chino XL dissed ICP on his album Poisne Pen he released last year. (f**k the Insane Clown Posse, of rap their making a mockery You'll retire like Seinfeld waiting on titles that I've held)

Just figured it should be added to the criticisms section.

Juggalo Stigmata

Put a point call Juggalo Stigmata. I think It is an important part of ICP to show how the fans are viewed by the public. Please update and reference it with fairness. This is a great subject to show a fair view of fans of icp. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.196.213.2 (talk) 14:39, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

re:Juggalo Stigmata

I think the word intended here is 'stigma'... stigmata are bodily marks, sores, or sensations of pain in locations corresponding to the crucifixion wounds of Jesus. Stigma is a label of social disapproval.

Discography

how come Forgotten freshness is not mentioned at all in the discography?! i know its important enough to be mentioned, someone please get to it.The juggreserection 18:20, 11 May 2007 (UTC) oh, i should add: i meant when you view an album page, and you have the next album link in that table, it completely skips FF, not in the discography of the ICP page itself. my bad.The juggreserection 14:53, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Forgotten Freshness is in the discography, it's just under the compilations rather than the original albums.--Rosicrucian 22:57, 23 May 2007 (UTC) amen to that they the bomb

Redo

Someone PLEASE redo the discography, this is horrible. if it isnt done by the end fo February than I willl do it myself. I just don't have the time to right now so please some Juggalo do this. "I do this all the time" Mutlee (talk) 15:11, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

  • What's wrong with the discography? (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 22:04, 25 January 2008 (UTC))

Fair use rationale for Image:200px-ICPtempest.jpg

I have added fair use rationale for this image, and it should now be compliant.--Rosicrucian 23:23, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
I think the Discography album cover images should be removed; WP:FU guidelines explicitly don't allow their usage in lists like this: "Cover art: Cover art from various items, for identification and critical commentary (not for identification without critical commentary)." There are no featured articles about musical groups that contain album art in their main article discographies. - Merzbow 23:16, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Would you say the album covers could be retained if they were used in a similar fashion to the Kate Bush featured article?--Rosicrucian 23:48, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Definitely... that works because each cover pictured there is for an album discussed in detail in the text, and is close to the point in the text where it is discussed. - Merzbow 23:54, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Could be a worthy improvement to the article then. I'll see if I can find the time to make the changes tonight.--Rosicrucian 23:57, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Cool. I would also suggest splitting off the majority of the discography into a separate article, and keeping only the studio albums/major comps in the main article. This would give space for even more information; the last 50 pages or so of "Behind the Paint" is a treasure trove of discographic information. - Merzbow 00:07, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Possible good suggestion, but I'll hold off on that until consensus is perhaps better. As it is the discography looks much cleaner now.--Rosicrucian 00:29, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

RIAA Certification of Amazing Jeckel Brothers

Just to get this out in the open and encourage discussion, here's a current content dispute. The RIAA certification database says that The Amazing Jeckel Brothers is certified Gold. The official ICP website asserts that it is platinum. This is likely the cause of much of the confusion and edit wars regarding both this article and the album's article.

Personally, I'd assume the RIAA website is the more reliable source. Do we have any reason to believe otherwise?--Rosicrucian 15:51, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

We can report ICP's view in the text as a clause after reporting the RIAA information, something like this: "However, ICP claims that it has two platinum albums..." - Merzbow 23:10, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
I'm not sure how to report that in a manner that isn't unencyclopedic, personally. Any controversy over the discrepancy seems to be a tempest in a teapot related to Wikipedia rather than any actual dispute between ICP and the RIAA regarding the certification. For all we know it's simply an unintentional mistake on ICP's site. As such, I'm not certain that it's noteworthy.--Rosicrucian 23:20, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
I'm not sure it's unintentional; Violent J says this in Behind the Paint also. I think we should at least report the band's own claim, I think it's noteworthy. - Merzbow 23:22, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Trying to weigh this out, I did some more footwork. In the history section of the official website, they claim platinum sales as well. However, I can't find any verifiable outside claims of it being platinum. Most that I can find are either ICP press materials or fansites. I don't have access to Behind the Paint, but given the press materials I'd agree that it's intentional. Still, it isn't a dispute per se, so I'm unsure as to how to phrase it.--Rosicrucian 23:32, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

How does this edit look?--Rosicrucian 23:40, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Looks good. - Merzbow 23:44, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Calm cover.jpg

I was going to go add a FU rationale myself, but I found that it looks like nobody who uploaded these ICP album covers bothered to specify where they got them from - scanned them in, took them from Amazon.com, etc. The "Non-free media rationale" template explicitly requires a source. What I suggest is for someone to re-upload all these covers and specify the source. This is exactly what I did for all of the Stereolab album covers. You can just take them from Amazon.com. - Merzbow 20:01, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

The Butterfly

Is there enough information available about "the butterfly" to have a headline. Several of the joker's cards, and I believe some of the EP's were "dedicated to the butterfly." Mr T 15:48, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Perhaps, "Behind The Paint" talks about it. - Merzbow 17:13, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

LISTEN ALL! A L L of insane clown posse's records are dedicated to the butterfly. And yes it is detailed in behind the paint as to why this is. It has to do with a pact between him and his brother rob bruce a.k.a. jumpsteady made when they were children. Long story short they accidentally killed a butterfly when they put it in a jar and wanted to keep it over night (they were like 5 & 7 )and they thought that it was wrong to kill something so beautiful and so graceful so they made a pact that when they die they will make it to heaven and apologize to the butterfly. all real juggalos have known it for years the story is also detailed in the booklet that accompanied the wraith:shangri la then followed by the storys appearance in behind the paint. hope the info helps yall mcl 65.123.157.253 11:11, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Sourcing a photo

In order to get the AJB album photo back up, it needs to be sourced. I've tried adding the photo unsourced, but some jerk tagged it as vandalization for no reason. Then I tried asking that guy specificly to source the photo himself, and he never responded. So I'm going to have to do it myself. So I ask, how do you source a photo? Either that or could someone else source the photo? Either one would work. Juggalobrink 13:58, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Just try and find the picture from some site owned by someone you can reach and ask for permission to use it in a wikipedia article. im prolly wrong but no one else wants to answer.the juggreserection 13:28, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Juggalo Championshit Wrestling

wikipedia states ICP's personal wrestling career as Juggalo Championship Wrestling, which is actually spelled Championshit. Hathethabits 01:23, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

The official name has changed - see www.juggalowrestling.com Euryalus 02:54, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Where on earth is this 'complete devastation' coming from? find me a RELIABLE source please, wikipedia wasn't made as a page where any unfounded rumours can be posted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tomheaton17 (talk • contribs) 16:42, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Image

The infobox needs an image published with a free license - in other words, if you took a photo of ICP yourself (meaning, not something you found on Google), you can upload it at Commons. Read up on how you would go about doing this here. Flickr has a few images of ICP, but I couldn't find anything that had the appropriate licensing. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 01:54, 3 January 2008 (UTC))

Beef with Eminem

I just read in this section that Marshall Mathers beef with ICP began shortly after getting a record deal with Doctor Dre when he handed out flyers featuring ICP as possible performers for a gig that Eminem was playing at. But other sources claim that The Marshall Mathers/ICP feud began sometime in 1995 under near similar circumstances. Can someone tell me which source is correct as to what year did the beef between Eminem and ICP began?

Spokenwordsegment (talk) 18:26, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Yeah i read here on wikipedia that it began in 1997 when eminem was celebrating the release of his The Slim Shady EP not LP. but someone changed it to LP. It should be changed back.

Violent j in a interveiw said the frist time he saw him was in 1997or98 aslo the only time they met —Preceding unsigned comment added by XilledJoker (talk • contribs) 07:42, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

heres an article saying it started in 1995. also a lot of people say d12 chased them out of a party http://www.trshady.com/eminemenemies/ICP/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.237.234.129 (talk) 04:26, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

ICP's stage show

I believe a breif description of the Insane Clown Posse's stage show is needed to decribe the other half of the ICP experience. I would be willing to write this but I personally have only been to four shows and I believe there are people with more experience than I. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dropzone56 (talk • contribs) 18:39, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

I agree. I've only been to 3 so I've been less than you. But we could look for online articles for sources so whoever writes it up can add sources so no one removes it. I would but I'm busy trying to keep SlamTV! from deleteion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Juggalobrink (talkcontribs) 20:41, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

The Return Of The Dark Carnival

Does this mean they are taking three years off or that it will be three years since their last album (the tempest)? Just wondering Mutlee (talk) 15:35, 23 January 2008 (UTC) O and a source would make this better. —Preceding unsigned comment added by St.Jimmy666 (talkcontribs) 15:36, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

If this is in fact true, then we must use another source, as juggalo news is not a neutral source. Iamanadam (talk) 17:00, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

It simply means they haven't talked about the Dark Carnival for 3 years. NOT that they won't record for three years. Juggalobrink (talk) 21:12, 1 February 2008 (UTC) I was referring to the fact there is no source saying that there is going to be an album about "the return of the dark carnival", find a neutral source, and I might believe it Iamanadam (talk) 20:39, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

I was replying to Mutlee's question. And if you actually looked, you would know it was announced on ICP's hotline. Juggalonews uploaded it and it can be found here. Not difficult, took all of 10 seconds ... Juggalobrink (talk) 22:23, 2 February 2008 (UTC) I hardly consider Juggalonews neutral source —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.254.10.220 (talk) 21:59, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Can you read? Did I ever say Juggalonews was the source? Juggalonews uploaded it, it's ICP's hotline. It has fucking J talking right there. Please don't comment with those stupid remarks. Juggalobrink (talk) 22:43, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Picture

I believe that since the Jekel Bros. era picture is the ONLY picture that we can keep on this page, it should be moved into the infobox. any protests?the juggreserection IstKrieg! 14:57, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

  • The image section of the Infobox is for non-copyrighted, free-licensed images. Until a free image is uploaded, the section should be left blank. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 13:49, 28 March 2008 (UTC))

Alright then. i wasnt aware. the juggreserection IstKrieg! 13:56, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Is there any particular reason...

...why each and every single album is considered an "era"? And can someone other than a fan write this page? —Ƿōdenhelm (talk) 14:35, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

im not quite sure why Every album says era, but to answer the latter question, im not sure its possible for someone whos not a fan to edit this page. no one else really cares about ICP, so its up to the fans. lets just hope its fans like Juggalobrink who are smart enough not to use POV.the juggreserection IstKrieg! 15:48, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, the POV was primarily what I was getting at when I mentioned that part. Plus, I feel that referring to each album as an "era" is a glorification, as if each album made a significant impact on the direction of musical culture. If we took metal, for example, then it could be divided up into eras based on style and direction: 80's Thrash and British era, 90's Death Metal era, late 90's and 2000's Nü-Metal era, asf. —Ƿōdenhelm (talk) 03:09, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
