Instituto Histórico da Ilha Terceira

The Instituto Histórico da Ilha Terceira (IHIT, Portuguese meaning the Terceira Island Historic Institute) is a cultural association of private nature, dedicated on investigation and studying the history of the Azores Islands, it organizes as an academy. The institute was founded in 1942 by the city of Angra do Heroísmo.
