Instituto Benjamin Constant

Coordinates: 22°57′12.95″S 43°10′19.95″W / -22.9535972, -43.1722083 Instituto Benjamin Constant is a part of Brazil's Ministry of Education, charged with promoting educational opportunities for the visually impaired. It is located in the neighborhood of Urca in Rio de Janeiro. The institute is named after the Brazilian soldier and intellectual Benjamin Constant. IBC was created by royal decree in 1854. In addition to education and advocacy, it houses a braille press and offers courses in braille reading and publication.
