The Institute Of Technology And Marine Engineering or I.T.M.E. is a well established engineering college of West Bengal. It is situated near Amtala (south 24 parganas).

The Institute of Technology and Marine Engineering was established in 2002. I.T.M.E. soon rose to fame by virtue of its excellent academic and campus recruitment records. Pioneered by chairman Mr. Shyamal Bhattacharrya this college bagged the tag of being the costliest engineering college of West Bengal, India. From 2006 and onwards, this college started out a new three year graduate program in Bachelor of Nautical Sciences, the first in the state.

The Institute of Technology and Marine Engineering is a fully residential college with five hostels. Hostel 1 is for fresher boys, Hostel 2 is for Marine senior students, Hostel 3 is for girl students, Hostel 4 is for technology students (second, third and, fourth year), and Hostel 5 for B.N.S students. There are also residential arrangements for professors, faculty lecturers, and other staff members; a medical facility center; a cafeteria; and a stationary shop inside the campus. The total campus is spread over a sprawling 35 acre area, with numerous outdoor and indoor sports facilities.

It is a private engineering college run by a trustee board. The members are:

This college has six engineering streams to offer; electronics and communications engineering, computer science and engineering, information technology, bio-technology, marine engineering, and nautical sciences.
All of them are four-year graduation courses except B.N.S, which is a three-year course.

I.T.M.E. is on its way to provide the students with post graduation courses with state of the art research facilities soon.

I.T.M.E. hosts annual cultural program Impulse along with the Freshers Welcome Abhigraha each year, as well as annual inter department sports meets. Other cultural competitions and exhibitions are being held constantly around the year.
