Institute for Energy

The Institute for Energy or IE, located in Petten, the Netherlands, is one of the seven institutes of the Joint Research Centre (JRC), a Directorate-General of the European Commission (EC).
The Institute for Energy provides scientific and technical support for the conception, development, implementation and monitoring of European Community policies related to energy. The institute pays special attention to the security of the European energy supply, to sustainable and safe energy production, and to environmental compliance.
