Inokashira-kōen Station
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Inokashira-kōen Station (井の頭公園駅 Inokashira-kōen eki?) is one stop from Kichijōji on the Keiō Inokashira Line to Shibuya. The station is a local train stop, but express trains tend to halt during the spring blossom viewing festival.
It gives quick access to Inokashira Park, the source of the Kanda River (神田川) and is a favorite spot for springtime hanami, or cherry-blossom viewing.
It's a quiet residential area with only a handful of shops and restaurants, but Kichijōji is only a 10 minute walk (600m).
The green open space behind Inokashira-koen Station and along Kanda river is often overlooked. Outdoor activities seem more appropriate there than in the artistic and crowded Inokashira Park.
