Inma Shara

Inma Shara (name in art of Inmaculada Lucia Sarachaga) (born 1972 in Amurrio, Spain) is a Spanish orchestral conductor, one of the few prominent women in that field.

She studied at the music conservatories in Bilbao and Vitoria. She was a student of Alexander Rahbari and Sir Colin Davis and collaborated with Zubin Mehta as director of the Bayerische Staatsoper. She has directed the major Spanish symphony orchestras as well as the Czech National Symphony, the Russian National Symphony, and the London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. In June 2007, she conducted the orchestra of the Teatro Regio di Parma at the opening concert of the Ravello Festival.
