InLight is a four-piece indie/rock band from Oxford, England. With the demise of Fell City Girl, InLight have a claim to be the most popular unsigned band in Oxford, having sold out the Oxford Carling Academy (formerly The Zodiac), the Keble O'Reilly Theatre Oxford and claiming a larger mailing list/MySpace presence than any of their contemporaries.[citation needed] In January 2008 it was announced that the band's music was to be featured in the 2008 film adaptation of Philip Pullman's The Butterfly Tattoo, with the song Bridges also to be used in the official trailer for the movie. InLight attended the preview screening of The Butterfly Tattoo at BAFTA in London on May 9th.
On May 25th 2008, InLight played a showcase, 'Space', at the Keble O'Reilly Theatre in Oxford, "as a response to growing interest in the band from the music industry and general public alike".[1]
[edit] Personnel/Lineup changes
The band currently consists of frontman Charlie Cooke (formerly of what later became indie pop band GoodBooks), lead guitarist Mike Riddle, bassist Johnny Hunter and drummer Pete Lawless. In September 2007 the band parted company with former drummer Calum Crake, to be replaced with Pete (then known as Johnny) Lawless. In March 2008 former bassist Peter Sarkies left the band, to be replaced with Johnny Hunter, upon which drummer Johnny's name was reverted to Pete.
