[edit] Semiprotection

Why was semi-protection policy removed? This article gets A LOT of spam. While it was under semi-protection, it didn't get any spam. I believe it should be semi-protected again.--Lenilucho 01:55, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

This article has never been semi-protected. Applying the template does not apply protection. If you want this article protected either contact an administrator or list the article at WP:RPP. -- zzuuzz (talk) 01:58, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
Ok, I didn't know how this works. I added it on the list and it was denied. I just added a note on the external links section. We'll se if it works. Thank you.--Lenilucho 07:58, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
Just a thought, this article doesn't need semi-protection... protection is usually only granted for very hot topics that have constant revert wars and vandalisms. If all topics like these get semi protected, then wiki would not be so much of a wiki anymore since no one other then members can edit it.--Steven 15:12, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
It would be more appropriate to require people to sign up than protect almost every article, though your assertion that it wouldn't be a wiki anymore is flawed - many existing wikis require people to sign up. Richard001 08:41, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
