Ink (Eric Gitter) is a fictional superhero, associated with the comic book series Young X-Men, published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Marc Guggenheim and artist Yanick Paquette, he first appeared in Young X-Men # 1 (2008).

[edit] History

Ink is one of the founding members of the current team of the Young X-Men. He is a loud-mouthed and rude teenager not caring what others think about him, standing up to two police officers who wish to arrest him in a tattoo parlor. He fights back using his tattoo of a biohazard symbol on his hand and his powers along with it to use a biochemical weapon on the policer officer making him sick. Unfortunately, he is arrested anyway.

Sitting in jail, moping and waiting to rot, a prison guard walks up to his cell. Eric sasses the guard with his cold and rude gestures but the guard frees him wishing to take him away from here, only to turn off an image inducer on his belt to be revealed as a costumed Cyclops.

Later, Cyclops, gathers Ink along with the other founding members of the team into the New X-Men's former training simulator, the Danger Cave, built by the former New X-Man, David Alleyne, and lectures them on their goal as a new team of X-Men and their first mission which is to take down the latest incarnation of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, now consisting of the former New Mutants.

Cyclops sends Ink and Blindfold to attack Dani Moonstar in her Colorado home, and after Blindfold knocks Moonstar unconscious, Ink knocks out Blindfold. His objectives are currently unknown.

Previews for Young X-Men #3 show him delivering the unconscious, but alive bodies to an unknown benefactor, who refers to him as a mercenary. He also declares "whatever I am, I'm no killer." This employer is later revealed to be Donald Pierce.[2]

[edit] Powers and abilities

Ink has the power to adapt to and gain powers of any tattoo on his body. For example, after he gets a tattoo on his palm with in the shape of a biohazard symbol, and uses the power gained to essentially use a biochemical weapon on a police officer making him extremely ill. The line based tattoo on his hand (as seen in the above image) gives him super strength.
