[edit] Sorry

Oops, I was a bit unclear, wasn't I? According to the merging and summarising policies, when you split out parts of one article into another article (or merge bits of one article into another), you're supposed to link the old article in your edit summary so that it's easy for people to track the history of the words. Doing this helps with the legal side of things at Wikipedia, by helping us comply with the GFDL license about attribution. Because you forgot to do that in your initial edit, I was just (trying to) make a note of it on the talk page to assist anyone who wants to know where the text came from. I don't want to merge the page back into the main Rosario + Vampire article.-Malkinann (talk) 07:22, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Old Turkic Script

Hi. I was working on the images from commons rather than the English wikipedia. I replaced the {{ShouldBeSVG}} there and tagged the images {{Vector version available}}. If the tags remain here then they must have been double tagged since templates from commons are included here in image descriptions. If it's on commons, best to tag it there to avoid duplication. I'll go find the remaining duplicates. — ₪₪ ch1902 ₪₪ 11:42, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Asybaris01 (talk) 14:41, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lilly Maxwell

Hello Inger,

Did you contribute the following passage to the Wikipedia page on Woman's sufferage in the UK?

"Lily Maxwell was the first women to vote in Britain in 1867 after the Great Reform Act of 1832 that explicitly excluded all women from the voting register by deliberately using the term "male" rather than "person". Before this, a very small number of wealthy women were able to vote. Maxwell, a shop owner, met the property qualifications required to become eligible for the vote and her name was accidentally added to the election register; this was used for great publicity by the women's suffrage campaigners at the time. Women's voting was later declared illegal."

If you did can I firstly suggest the first sentence be altered to:-

In 1867 Lily Maxwell was the first women to vote in Britain after the Great Reform Act of 1832

Just to make it clearer if indeed 1867 was the year Lily Maxwell voted.

It is this sentence however that really prompts me to write.

"Before this, a very small number of wealthy women were able to vote."

Can you cite any examples? I actually only know of one - in 1554! - and the circumstances were quite exceptional.

I do not think it was ever an intention of the 1832 Reform Act to disenfranchise woman - because I'm quite convinced that no one at the time thought any were enfranchised.

I'm prepared to be corrected.

Yours sincerely,
