[edit] Cause or effect?
Waratah and Wattle feature in the schools emblem to recall the Henry Lawson poem of the same name and is a reference to the strong links the community had to the army in its early years.
Does Waratah and Wattle feature in the emblem because of the poem or do we recall the poem because waratah and wattle feature in the emblem? Alternatively, was "waratah and wattle" chosen as the old school motto because of the poem? (I.e. Is someone confusing their history?)
