Ingrid Marie

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ingrid-Marie is a traditional apple coming out of the "Alten Land" in Germany.

It was cultivated by accident around 1910 on the premises of the nursery Flemløse on the island of Fünen in Denmark. One parent might be Cox's Orange Pippin.

The apple has a red, firm skin and the color continues into the flesh underneath the skin. This suggests a relationship to the “Renetten”, an old German family of apples.

Ingrid-Marie trees grow excellent in moderate warm and humid climate. Today the Ingrid-Marie has been substituted by more flavorful and productive apple varieties.
