Template talk:Infobox fictional conflict

[edit] Heading

I'd change the field "In-universe information". The term "in-universe", though useful, is Wiki jargon as far as I know and is not appropriate tone for an encyclopedia article. Perhaps "fictional information" might suffice as a replacement? — Brian (talk) 22:42, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

I agree that 'in-universe' is jargon and undesirable, I've changed it to 'fictional information'. Although this doesn't sound quite right either.--Nydas(Talk) 07:24, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
"Fictional details" might also work. Not sure about other alternatives. — Brian (talk) 07:36, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
The current version is 'Canonical information'. I'm not keen on this, because the info is not usually canonical, it's cobbled together from a mix of sources, verging on original research.--Nydas(Talk) 09:06, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
I changed it back because you're right. First of all, very few fictional universes have any kind of transparent "canon" — it's mostly all fan speculation about what things "happened" and which ones didn't. Secondly, the very term canon is fanspeak and is not appropriate for an article written in an encyclopedic tone. — Brian (talk) 11:07, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bugs

This template works buggy if used together with a campaign box. Previously, main text of the article began on the level of the campaignbox, with an empty space opposite infobox. This seems now to have been worked out, yet another bug is still present: 'edit' links in section headers are misplaced to the level of the campaignbox, while section and text are placed correctly from the top of a page. See for example this edit this edit to the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. The edit links are missing as this is an old version, and likewise they are not present on the preview page. On the final page they are present and misplaced, unless FixHtml tags are used. Súrendil 09:02, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
