Template talk:Infobox Town AT

[edit] Automatic map

It would be nice if this infobox would generate a dot-on-map of Austria, like it's done in {{Infobox German Location}}. Or, since German wikipedia has infoboxes for thousands of municipalities in Austria, it might be a good idea to create an infobox like the one for German places, that works with data from German wikipedia. Thoughts? Markussep Talk 13:15, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

I made a new infobox, based on {{Infobox German Location}}. It is compatible with data from German wikipedia (de:Vorlage:Infobox Ort in Österreich) and from the current version of Infobox Town AT. It is currently at {{Infobox Town AT/Test}}. It probably still contains some redundant features, so it will need some cleaning up before it can go live. This is what it looks like with data from German wikipedia (see Thal, Austria for instance). Comments please? Markussep Talk 20:28, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
yeah, I've one: you can't source the population (like 10,000[x], you know; neither after the "population" entry nor the "dated on" one) as it would mess up with this info-box. I haven't tried to do any other item.
oh, and thx for the great job you have done to create this template!
p.s.: how interesting - German info-boxes aren't even capable of holding sources.. — HTurtle (talk2me • sign) 03:45, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
It is possible to include a reference for the population figure in the infobox, but it's not widely used. I tried it, it works. See Template:Infobox Town AT/Instructions#pop_ref. Markussep Talk 16:19, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
huch, maybe I should have read the instructions first before bothering you...
anyhow, thx for the answer!
p.s.: sourcing the population isn't a particular bad idea - 'cause always be alarmed of the deletionists.. — HTurtle (talk2me • sign) 19:14, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
