[edit] Template Description
isn't it odd that this template does not include the description "MAYOR" when displayed? --emerson7 | Talk 17:03, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
Yes, I have noticed this just now on an article I was editing, and it should be changed. I have never edited a template like this, but may. -- Yellowdesk 15:24, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- i took a look at the template and got intimidated...have at it! --emerson7 | Talk 15:31, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

- ...and on looking it over, I see that it won't be soon for me to do it. Some learning to do. I queried MZMcBride who apparently did some reformatting and rewriting of the template in spring 2006. -- Yellowdesk 16:36, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

- I think another change that should be considered is the overall appearance of the template. There is now a fairly consistent look to infoboxes for politicans; Officeholder, Politician, Senator and Congressman. It would seem logical to extend that consistency to this template. - MZMcBride put forward the idea to me that the Template:Infobox Mayor be deprecated and transitioned to Template:Infobox_Officeholder, as it is non-standard in other ways too. Apparently only 52 pages have transcluded the Template:Infobox Mayor template. Comments desired, and would anyone care to take on a project like that? -- Yellowdesk 04:25, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

- Sounds like a good proposal and I'd be willing to help with the transition. VerruckteDan 04:34, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- Alright, I've updated all the pages that use this template except for one that is protected. If there's no objections, I will go and redirect this template to Template:Infobox_Officeholder. VerruckteDan 03:36, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
