[edit] Use of switch

This template abuses switch, centralizing information that should be distributed among different uses of the template (for example, the coat of arms picture location). Someone should fix this. LittleDantalk 20:09, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

Is there some sort of policy/guideline that stipulates this? As far as I can see, the switch enables all the infoboxes to be updated by editing one page rather than 30+. Of course, if there's a guideline saying otherwise then it'll be a fairly easy change. DJR (T) 21:44, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

'Admin HQ' added, borrowed from England_county. Content added to individual borough's pages in Inner London + Haringey + Newham so far. Noted that a number of edits have bastardized this infobox and produced non-standard ones without adding any extra info or functions (I've corrected this on Westminster, K&C and Lambeth so far) 85.210.6.13 12:17, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Statistical definitions

Could you please explain what is to be included in the Ethnicity category, and how this is to be sourced? There is Census data which is now old. There are Office of National Statistics ethnic group estimates, but these are tied to their population estimates and are "experimental statistics". The GLA also do ethnic projections for London boroughs, which individual boroughs may cite. What is the preferred standard?

Similarly, how is "Density" calculated? Which population count is used in producing this statistic, and what is the preferred source? The source data for the calculation should be cited, so that its age and source is known. Mivona 21:46, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
