This sub-template allows the placement of a section on the official status of a language in the middle of {{language}}. It cannot stand alone, but is called by the inclusion of {{{nation}}} or {{{agency}}} in {{language}}. This sub-template is now under semi-protection: it may not be edited by new and unregistered users. This is reduce the change of vandalism and the excessive server load of an edit to a highly referenced template. --Gareth Hughes 20:01, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

I hope this is a reasonable change. I was just reading about Arabic, and felt that the "Official language of" text sounded very exclusive.
Perhaps it would actually make sense to include two options, one if the country has this language as the sole exclusive one, and one if it's one among many? Bhimaji 22:10, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
